#concert experience design

What remains after a concert? Aside from the music, it’s often just the memory of a special moment. Sometimes, though, a small gesture is enough to turn that memory into a lasting experience.
That’s exactly what the bee.mobil at the Beethovenfest Bonn makes possible, becoming a lively gathering spot during the interval or after the concert. Hidden inside is a charming surprise: an integrated photo booth, inviting guests - unexpectedly - to join a spontaneous meet & greet with the artists. Quick, uncomplicated, and complete with a personal keepsake photo to take home.
This creates a special “star moment”: audience and artists meet at eye level and a final joyful snapshot accompanies the guests as they head home.
Who is this moment for? For everyone! Whether young or old, first-timer or regular - this event makes a relaxed encounter possible and brings a new kind of closeness. With minimal effort and a low threshold for participation, the photo booth invites all to take away a personal fragment of concert history.
Variations are welcome:
Fun props and festival colors as backgrounds
Signed photos as a bonus
Surprise photos waiting on every seat before the concert starts
Or a lottery, with randomly selected snapshots slipped into program booklets
The first pilot at Beethovenfest Bonn in 2024 showed: a brief moment of overcoming shyness for the artists - and great enthusiasm among the audience. It’s exactly this blend of surprise, connection, and ease that gives this Concert Experience Design its unique magic.

We developed this Concert Experience Design as part of the Inside Artists residency programme sponsored by the Liz Mohn Foundation at the Beethovenfest Bonn – in collaboration with the programme team of the renowned classical music festival and other artists.
