1:1 ENCOUNTERS #wort:klang 24.09. - 28.09.2025

At the 100 1:1 ENCOUNTERS, that will take place at surprising locations in and around Salem in the northern Lake Constance region, guests have the chance to experience one of the festival artists up close in a ten-minute 'blind date'. The format is designed as a surprise for both sides - neither the genre nor the artists and their performances are revealed in advance. Guests experience unique, individual encounters with theater, painting, poetry, classical music, DJ sets, photography, and sound design. Each visitor is personally welcomed and accompanied by hosts.
This format not only creates intense cultural experiences but also has a lasting impact: Admission is free, and voluntary donations go to the Salem Family Center, directly benefiting local refugee women attending German language courses with childcare. In this way, the project contributes to social integration and cultural participation in rural Baden-Württemberg beyond the festival itself, sending a strong message for diversity and solidarity in rural areas.
Slots can be booked here starting in early September.

Partner and Network
The project sponsor of the WORT:KLANG festival is the non-profit association 1:1 CONCERTS e.V., which is much more than a concert format: a movement, a platform, a network. Over 20,000 live concerts have been organized worldwide since 2019. More than 2,500 participants and around 30 orchestra sponsorships form a global community in 60 cities that is committed to sustainable cultural preservation, quality encounters and mindfulness. Franziska Ritter and Christian Siegmund are the artistic directors, while the local team in Salem is led by Johanna Knöpfle. L WIE MATERIE is the regional cooperation partner, located right next to Salem Castle. It has been a prominent address for contemporary art since 2017. The exhibition spaces in the old forester's lodge are curated and managed by Johanna Knöpfle & Matthias Schenkl. The venue is characterized by personal art mediation and the principle of mobile presentation. Since 2020 there has been a close cooperation with 1:1 CONCERTS.
We are grateful for the generous support from the lotteries of Lotto Baden-Württemberg.
