Art exhibition KON:TEXT
26. September 2025
#wort:klang

September 26-28 I Daily guided tours I L WIE MATERIE
The art exhibition KON:TEXT, held in the spaces of L WIE MATERIE, is dedicated to language in visual art and brings together works by Rebecca Koellner, Johanna Knöpfle, and Matthias Schenkl. KON:TEXT explores communication, the use of language, and the search for words, making these themes visible through drawings, photographs, and light installations. The exhibition centres on the results of LIPSPIL, a socially inclusive project. Moreover, Knöpfle addresses the challenges of dialogue with drawings such as the conversation tubes and reflects on the transience of language with objects like The Dusty Word. Schenkl examines the manipulation of language and creates interactive photographs that encourage reflection on the use and misuse of language. Koellner’s light installation - which radiates from the rooms towards the outside world - visualizes the struggle for words and connects text fragments with light art. The exhibition forms the heart of the festival and will remain open to the public until October 2025. Through artistic diversity, it creates a dialogue about the significance of language. The aim is to highlight language as a central theme in art, promote inclusion, and strengthen L WIE MATERIE as a cultural meeting point in the rural area.
Admission is free (donations on site are welcome). Open daily from 11 am to 6 pm at L WIE MATERIE, Schlossbezirk Forsthaus 1, 88682 Salem (Please use the public parking lot at Schloss Salem).
The exhibition will remain open for free visits throughout autumn, even after the festival!
