Bremen in the golden sound of autumn!

Like the Town Musicians from the fairy tale, the 1:1 CONCERTS have also set out for the beautiful Hanseatic city: on Sunday, 13 November 2022, we played a musical marathon of 100 concerts at six fantastic concert venues and thus added Bremen to the circle of the 1to1 community. The Weserburg - Museum für Moderne Kunst, the Wilhelm Wagenfeld Haus, the Roselius Museum, the tax office Legales, the old Fliegerturm at BRE Airport and the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Schiff opened their doors for us. The concerts were made possible by a grant from the Nordmetall Foundation.

In one hundred very personal encounters, musicians from the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Signum Quartet and the independent scene enchanted Bremen's citizens with their fine sounds. They included Annette Walther (violin), Barbara Heindlmeier (recorder), Hannah Weber (cello), Bernhard Reichel (lute), Liana Lessmann (clarinet), Florian Donderer (violin), Barbara Linke-Holicka (viola), Lynda Cortis (cello), Karsten Schulz (double bass) and Thomas Schmitz (cello).

We experience the emotional impact this special concert format can have in the "love letters" that are usually written shortly after the concerts. A listener writes to us:

Feeling nothing but music makes time stand still and I consciously notice every second. It was wonderful and I am grateful for this experience.

We were particularly taken with the extraordinary hospitality we experienced from the people of Bremen with our concerts. With great empathy, the hosts accompanied each individual listener, even when tears were shed: Dietrich Schreiber, Andreas Siegmund, Claudia Schmidt, Carla Frese, Christoph Brosius, Ute Heimrod, Petra Huy, Salome Althammer, Peter Backes, Julius Backes, Stefanie Schneider and Christian Siegmund.

This also resonates in the many feedbacks that reached us after the concerts. One listener wrote to us:

A special moment in a special place with this special music! I wish us many more such precious and special experiences.

Us too! The wonderful response calls for more and we are planning a comeback next year. Stay tuned!
