New 1:1 Series in 4 Cities 31. January 2022

#MusikerNothilfe schafft #MusikerZukunft

In February and March 2022, a new series of 1:1 CONCERTS will start in Berlin, München, Stuttgart and Frankfurt Main.

Thanks to a funding from the German Orchestra Foundation and the numerous donations from 1:1 CONCERTS listeners, we can now support freelance musicians directly and offer them a fairly paid stage and performance opportunity. At the same time, musicians from the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Polizeiorchester Bayern, the Bayerisches Staatsorchester, the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the SWR and the Staatsorchester Stuttgart, among others, volunteer to play in solidarity with their freelance colleagues providing numerous musical blind dates at unusual venues. Even before the pandemic, the situation of many freelance musicians was difficult. During the pandemic, the extent of social concern became clear to the wider public.

Andreas Bausdorf, managing director of the Deutsche Orchesterstiftung:

We have started the campaign #MusikerNothilfe schafft #MusikerZukunft (the Emergency Fund for Musicians forges the Musicians’ future) to ensure that the entire music scene remains vibrant and that young professional musicians continue to enrich musical life and our society with their creativity. We are very pleased that 1:1 CONCERTS are drawing attention to the current situation which is very challenging for many freelance musicians. Moreover, it highlights the relevance of culture in our society.

The donations for this concert series will go to the non-profit organisation 1:1 CONCERTS e.V. They will be used to to keep our concerts concerts free of charge to the listeners enabling us to offer more project series like this with freelance musicians.
